The European public has always been great to me.

I was gonna write songs, I was gonna be a star and a singer and I never thought of doing anything else.

I love to write, to sing, to make music. Not to act: I am horrible.

Nashville has a great creative atmosphere. It's a small, close-knit music community that you can't find anywhere else.

Some of my fans tell me that my voice is more suited for romantic numbers, some others say I do Sufi songs better. But that just goes to say that people are more aware of the different genres now. More people are getting exposed to sufi music because of Bollywood, which is good.

Each couple's version of intimacy is so fascinating to me. A friend will tell me about her marriage, and I'll think, 'Yikes, they have horrible communication! They're going to get divorced!' And then I'll hear about them at another time and think, 'Wow, they love each other so much!'

Men are literally lying in bed with their wives when the marriage is essentially over, thinking, 'I've got to get the hell out of here', and have a fantasy woman in mind. Then you get divorced, meet a woman, marry her, and by the time all that goes by, you've aged a few years and are ready to go back to your ex-wife.

No matter where I go, I actually have a lot of couples coming and telling me that one of my songs was instrumental in strengthening their romance!
